What is Counselling/Psychotherapy?
Counselling (or Therapy) provides a safe place to explore your thoughts and feelings. It is not easy to see a counsellor for the first time, and it is not unusual to feel hesitant about sharing personal information.
There is an opportunity through the relationship with the counsellor to think together about some of the difficulties you are experiencing. A counsellor does not give advice, but can help to understand some of the more unconscious "hidden" feelings that are preventing you from from being able to change.
My approach is psychodynamic which is a form of indepth counselling that looks at patterns of behaviour that we repeat.
